Coca-Cola Trays

McClintock, William, Coca-Cola Trays, Atglen, PA: Schiffer Publishing Ltd, 1996, pp126 inc. color illustrations.

I ain't much of a collector of those fancy Coca-Cola collectibles. But when a friend gave me this colorful paperback recently, I was pleased to accept it. This paperback has large prints and it's a good guidebook.

Facing The Ocean

Cunliffe, Barry, Facing The Ocean: The Atlantic And Its Peoples, 8000 BC-AD 1500, New York: Oxford University Press, 2001, pp600 inc. illustrations. New Hardback. Dustjacket. This beautiful hardcover book weighs almost a whopping 1.9 kg and it's a gift from an elderly gentleman who has one of the largest private collections of books in Singapore. I was fortunate to visit his home for the first time last week, and to browse through his remarkable library of about 40,000 books. Upon departure, I was pleased to receive this book as a gift from this kind gentleman.

Diamonds in Australia

Chapman, Leo, Diamonds in Australia: The Fields and The Prospectors, Sydney: Bay Books Pty Ltd, 1980, pp190 inc b/w & color illustrations.

When I'd noticed this large paperback inside Romie's bookshop downtown sometime last week, I didn't hesitate to buy it rightaway.

It's interesting and fun to read something about diamonds, even though I don't own any piece of investment diamond thus far.

Gold Producers Handbook

Gold Producers Handbook 1991, Sydney (Australia): Australian Stock Exchange Limited, (1991), pp189 inc charts.

This large paperback was bought in 1992 at a high price from Times The Bookshop downtown.

A long way back in 1991, the market price of gold was about the same as the price of platinum. It was a golden opportunity back then for anyone to exchange all his or her gold into platinum and becomes rich by now 'coz the price of platinum is more than twice the price of gold nowadays.

It's easy to mention this missed opportunity on hindsight.

The Robots' Rebellion

Icke, David, The Robots' Rebellion: The Story of the Spiritual Renaissance, Bath, UK: Gateway Books, 1994, pp350.

This is a nice-used (as good as new) paperback that I'd bought from Romie last month. Although I'd read a few articles and watched several videos about David Icke (born 1952) hosted by several websites, this is the first book that I'd ever bought which is written by this author.

David Icke is an active campaigner against the New World Order of mind control of the population.

Greening Business

Davis, John, Greening Business: Managing for Sustainable Development, Cambridge, Massachusetts: Basil Blackwell, Inc., 1991, pp215. Dust-jacket. Nice used.

This hardcover book is a good read for anyone who's concerned about global warming and world environment destruction. The business of environment protection is big business and I guess this book was written years ahead of such development like greening business.

This book was bought some 12 years ago from Romie, who runs a bookshop downtown called Books Galore.

I would like to offer this hardback at a reasonable price to any serious or casual reader who appreciates the pleasure of owning a nice reference book like this.

The reader is strongly advised to collect this heavy book from me at Yew Tee mrt station because packing and mailing it by post is going to incur quite a substantial cost. Besides, I might not have the material to pack such a large and heavy book.

SOLD!

Selling these 31 Nice Used Books

In the afternoon of Sunday, April 8, a friend had driven a good distance to my place of residence and handed over to me a huge lot of 31 interesting books, 30 paperbacks and one hardback.

He'd asked me to help him to sell these nice used books at Yahoo! Auctions Singapore, and I am now thinking several descriptions to write about these books in order to create those auctions pages.

But first of all, I have to shoot several nice photographs of everyone of these books individually.

Meanwhile, I have to find some space in my bookshelf to stack up these books carefully 'coz it may take quite awhile to sell them on auctions. SOLD!
