This is a hard-to-find autographed book by Dr Goh Poh Seng, his first novel written about Singapore.

Coca-Cola Trays

McClintock, William, Coca-Cola Trays, Atglen, PA: Schiffer Publishing Ltd, 1996, pp126 inc. color illustrations.

I ain't much of a collector of those fancy Coca-Cola collectibles. But when a friend gave me this colorful paperback recently, I was pleased to accept it. This paperback has large prints and it's a good guidebook.

Facing the Ocean

Cunliffe, Barry, Facing the Ocean: The Atlantic and its Peoples, 8000 BC-AD 1500, New York: Oxford University Press, 2001, pp600 inc. illustrations. New Hardback. Dustjacket.

This beautiful hardcover book weighs almost a whopping 1.9 kg and it's a gift from an elderly gentleman who has one of the largest private collections of books in Singapore.

I was fortunate to visit his home for the first time last week, and to browse through his remarkable library of about 40,000 books. Upon departure, I was pleased to receive this book as a gift from this kind gentleman.

Wine Buyer's Guide

Pocket Wine Buyer's Guide 1999, London: Dorling Kindersley Limited, 1998, pp368. Leather jacket.

This is a nice pocket guidebook that I'd bought from Romie's bookshop sometime last month.

Diamonds in Australia

Chapman, Leo, Diamonds in Australia: The Fields and the Prospectors, Sydney: Bay Books Pty Ltd, 1980, pp190 inc b/w & color illustrations.

When I'd noticed this large paperback inside Romie's bookshop downtown sometime last week, I didn't hesitate to buy it rightaway.

It's interesting and fun to read something about diamonds, even though I don't own any piece of investment diamond thus far.

Gold Producers Handbook

Gold Producers Handbook 1991, Sydney (Australia): Australian Stock Exchange Limited, (1991), pp189 inc charts.

This large paperback was bought in 1992 at a high price from Times The Bookshop downtown.

A long way back in 1991, the market price of gold was about the same as the price of platinum. It was a golden opportunity back then for anyone to exchange all his or her gold into platinum and becomes rich by now 'coz the price of platinum is more than twice the price of gold nowadays.

It's easy to mention this missed opportunity on hindsight.

Trading in Metals, 2nd Edition, edited by Trevor Tarring and Geoff Pinney, Surrey (England): Metal Bulletin Books Limited, 1989, pp275. Dustjacket. As Good as New. SOLD!

When I'd noticed this hardcover book inside Romie's bookshop downtown sometime last month, I didn't hesitate to buy it rightaway.

It's interesting and fun to read about the trading of hard commodities, especially metals such as gold, silver, and platinum.

Hidden Messages in Water

Emoto, Masaru, The Hidden Messages in Water, translated by David A. Thayne, Tokyo: Beyond Words Publishing, 2004, pp160 inc color illustrations.

Is there something hidden inside that crystal clear water? Well, let me get myself a glass of clean tap water and check it out.

Holy War for Constantinople

Crowley, Roger, 1453: The Holy War for Constantinople and The Clash of Islam and The West, First Edition, New York: Hyperion, 2005, pp304 (text), pp8 (b/w illustrations). Dustjacket.

This is a nice-used (as good as new) hardback that I'd bought from Romie last month. This is serious academic stuff and I have yet to complete my reading of this book.

The Robots' Rebellion

Icke, David, The Robots' Rebellion: The Story of the Spiritual Renaissance, Bath, UK: Gateway Books, 1994, pp350.

This is a nice-used (as good as new) paperback that I'd bought from Romie last month. Although I'd read a few articles and watched several videos about David Icke (born 1952) hosted by several websites, this is the first book that I'd ever bought which is written by this author.

David Icke is an active campaigner against the New World Order of mind control of the population.

Greening Business

Davis, John, Greening Business: Managing for Sustainable Development, Cambridge, Massachusetts: Basil Blackwell, Inc., 1991, pp215. Dust-jacket. Nice used.

This hardcover book is a good read for anyone who's concerned about global warming and world environment destruction. The business of environment protection is big business and I guess this book was written years ahead of such development like greening business.

This book was bought some 12 years ago from Romie, who runs a bookshop downtown called Books Galore.

From Third World To First

Memoirs of Lee Kuan Yew, From Third World To First, Singapore: Times Editions Pte Ltd, 2000, pp778 (text), pp44 (b/w & color photographs). Dust-jacket. Nice Used Hardback. As Good As New.

This out-of-print heavy hard cover giant book weighs about 1.40 kilograms and it is a wonderful reference book for the serious reader who has some interest in Singapore politics. No problem if you're just a casual reader 'coz those photographs and large prints are easy on the eyes.

I would like to offer this hardback at a reasonable price to any serious or casual reader who appreciates the pleasure of owning a nice reference book like this.

The reader is strongly advised to collect this heavy book from me at Yew Tee mrt station because packing and mailing it by post is going to incur quite a substantial cost. Besides, I might not have the material to pack such a large and heavy book.
